[OS] The Yankee & The Ice Princess (YuriAnnin)

The Yankee and The Ice Princess (YuriAnnin)

Iriyama Anna’s POV

I was alone in the back of the classroom. I didn’t have a lot of friends, just one. My best friend, Rena. Yet, we weren’t in the same class. My classmates didn’t speak to me, anyway, I didn’t need it. They called me “The Ice Princess” as I was unsociable and cold toward them. But, well, I was fine alone.

The teacher pushed the door carefully, a student next to her. The girl wore our High School’s uniform with a long black hair. A new student?

“Good morning. We have a new student. Please introduce yourself.” Takahashi-sensei exclaimed with a warm smile.

“My name is Kizaki Yuria, nice to meet you.” She bowed a bit in front of us.

The boys around me seemed dumbfounded. I let out a light sigh, annoyed by their behaviours. Yuria was pretty, but they didn’t need to stare at her. They could be so annoying. Our teacher thought for a few seconds before pointing the seat behind me.

“Kizaki-san. Please sit here, behind Iriyama-san.”

I hoped she was talkative. I didn’t listen to the class, but I didn’t want to talk either. The new student nodded and reached her seat.

“Nice to meet you, Iriyama-san.”

“Nice to meet you.” I only answered when she passed next to me.

Then, the class started. It was so boring. I was ready to leave the classroom when Takahashi-sensei stopped me. She assigned me to visit the campus with Yuria. It was annoying, why me? I did it anyway. Explaining all this stuff.

“Do you have any questions?” I almost snapped when we were over.

“No, thanks.” She answered with a slight smile.

Great! I didn’t want to stay more with her.

“I’m leaving, bye.”

Kizaki Yuria’s POV

I looked at the cold girl leaving me. Did I do or say something which made her angry? Perhaps it was just her personality. It will be a long year. I reached my locked to put my stuff. I could hear a talk between my new classmates.

“… The Ice Princess?” One of them laughed. “Poor girl.”

“She is sitting not far from her too, like behind.” Another added while I closed my locker.

“This girl isn’t a good person anyway.”

Anna’s classmates hated her. They called her “The Ice Princess”, it was quite harsh. Even though they were right, she was really cold. I wondered if she did something else than being cold. Perhaps they were just stupid.

Iriyama Anna’s POV

A few days passed since I met Yuria. But today was another dreary day. I didn’t really want it to start.

“Hi, Renacchi.” I waved at her.

“Hello, Annin.” My friend smiled. “Nee Annin, do you want to go out with me after class?” Rena asked kindly.

“Where?”

“The new café with dancers in the town.” She explained while I looked at her, bewildered. “Please, come with me.” She begged me, pulling my arms.

Rena loved dance contrary to me. But she really wanted to go there. So, I decided to make an effort for her.

“Okay.” I answered with a little smile.

The school beg rang in the room.

“See you later.” Rena exclaimed, pinching my cheeks.

I just smiled and went to my classroom where Yuria was sitting, waiting. I had forgotten this girl entirely.

Kizaki Yuria’s POV

I stared at the girl in front of me. She put her bag slowly and sat down.

“Good morning Iriyama-san.” I greeted her shyly.

“Good morning Kizaki-san.” She answered me without turning around.

Nice, good start girl. I let out a sigh.

Iriyama Anna’s POV

Since the school was over, Rena became really annoying.

“C’mon Annin, I don’t want us to be late.”

Rena was too in a hurry. I smiled, and we went inside. I looked around me, it was a beautiful place with a few lights above our heads. We sat and ordered drinks. My friend looked so glad to be there and honestly, that made me happy. The light turned off, just a few neon lights stayed switched on. The place was overwhelming by a soft bluish light. I had no word.

Finally, the stage illuminated, we could see a few girls on. They wore different costumes. They began dancing. But I recognised her, Yuria. She wore a High School’s shirt with a black sweatshirt over a shirt. They started dancing. Her moves seemed to float in the air. She did it simply but perfectly. She was a perfect dancer, I couldn’t look away.

“Are you still with me, Annin?” Rena giggled, definitely making fun of my admiration.

“I am. Watch the show Renacchi.” I answered without looking at her.

The show was over. It was pretty nice.

“Aaaah it was so cool.”

I didn’t answer. Yuria made a lot of shows. I enjoyed looking at her. I mean, like she was a good dancer and- Why am I explaining? My head was all messy.

“Will we come back here?” Rena asked as a little child.

I remained quiet, still deep in my thoughts

“Annin are you fine? You seem somewhere else.” She waved in front of my face.

“Don’t worry, I’m fine, just a bit tired.” I answered quickly.

Kizaki Yuria’s POV

I easily distinguished Anna and her friend in the room. I could notice her gaze at me a few times. Her look was so cold. I decided to speak with her before she left. I didn’t really know why I wanted to, but this girl intrigued me.

“Hi, Iriyama-san.” I called her, smiling.

“Hi Ki-” She turned around, but her friend interrupted her.

“Kya! You’re a great dancer. By the way, I’m Kato Rena.” She almost shouted, shaking my hands.

“Thank you. I’m Kizaki Yuria, you can call me Yuria.” I mumbled with a slight smile.

“So, call me Rena or Renacchi.” She looked at the clock for a few seconds. “I’m sorry, I really need to go, see you next time.”

I stayed stunned at Rena’s sudden actions. She started leaving me, but she stopped suddenly. Anna didn’t move from her spot.

“Annin? Don’t you come with me?”

“Y-Yes.” Anna muttered before following her friend without paying attention to me.

Bad luck I guess.

Iriyama Anna’s POV

It was already the next day. I heard a knock on my bedroom’s door. I woke me up. I didn’t want to go.

“Miss. It’s time.” My steward told me, pushing the door slowly.

I groaned and stood up. I couldn’t miss school. My family was rich. I didn’t like this. They said I was different. But I was glad because I was not in a private High School.

I cast a cold glance at my steward and left the house after my breakfast. I closed the door carefully and distinguished Yuria. Was she my neighbour?

“Hi Iriyama-san.” She greeted quietly with a slight smile.

“Good morning Yuria.” I looked at her, a bit confused by my own sentence.

Her cheeks were coloured with pink. Did I just call her by her first name? So embarrassing.

“Sorry.” I apologised, avoiding her gaze.

“That’s fine. You can call me Yuria.”

“Thanks Yuria.” I smiled at her.

“Let’s go to school together?” She asked shyly.

I simply nodded. What was wrong with me?

Kizaki Yuria’s POV

We didn’t talk too much. She stayed cold for all the way, answering with an emotionless voice. I knew it wasn’t my fault. It was Anna’s personality.

“Good morning.” Rena greeted us with a warm smile.

“Hi Rena.” I merely answered and went quickly to my locker.

There were the girls who spoke about Anna. No matter what they were saying, I was in my thoughts, thinking about yesterday. Why was Anna staring at me? That was so strange, her cold gaze. It looked cool.

The school bells surprised me a bit. I reached my classroom, Anna was already sat. Then, our teacher greeted us and started speaking. I even didn’t welcome Anna.

“You will work in pair. I let you decide about this.” She told us while the students started moving to find their friends.

“Do you want to work with me?” I asked at Anna, a bit anxious.

She will say no. She will say no. She will-

“Why not.” She answered me coldly.

I let out a light sigh, relieved. She said yes. Well, a kind of yes.

The class was over, but our study and work weren’t yet. I walked next to Anna, leaving the classroom.

“Where will we work?”

“Library?” I answered, looking at her.

She shook her head, disagreeing with me.

“I don’t want to stay at school.” She avoided my look.

She didn’t seem to like school, I quickly noticed it.

“We can go home. Which one?”

“Mine is fine.” She spoke in a light tone.

“Fine, I will take my stuff.” I left Anna behind.

Once I reached the locker, I saw my classmates. The typical hypocrite girls.

“Hey Yuria, you are working with The Ice Princess, right?” One of them taunted, walking closer to me.

“Yes, and?” I answered in a provoking tone.

“She is a-” She laughed, but I interrupted her.

“Shut up.” I stayed calm.

“Don’t speak to me like this.” She started beginning angry.

I looked at her with a smirk. Then, I grabbed her collar and pushed the girl against the wall.

“Don’t insult her.” I answered seriously before releasing her.

“Stupid yankee.” She mumbled.

Well, that was true. I had a yankee side, and I was hot-blooded. I stepped back and hit someone. I slowly turned around, distinguishing Anna.

“Sorry, I didn’t see you.” I muttered while the other girls left us.

I hoped she didn’t see me. People usually don’t like my yankee side.

“Are you ready?” She asked simply.

“I am. Are you here for a long time, Iriyama-san?” I felt my cheeks turned red.

“No, and you can call me Anna.”

What a harsh way to say this. But I just nodded, and we left toward her place.

As usual, we didn’t talk too much. Her place was imposing, like a mansion. Anna pushed the door slowly, and we went inside.

“Welcome home Miss. Who is it?” An old man asked, looking at me.

“Nobody.” She answered coldly, pulling me toward her room.

“Miss. Come back here. If your mother-” He started yelling, but I couldn’t hear the end.

“I’m sorry, it’s my steward. He’s boring.” She explained, closing the door behind her.

I was a bit stunned, but I nodded. I put my stuff down, and we started working. Anna was rich. But she acted strangely to him. Why didn’t she tell him? I didn’t understand everything.

“Where are you from?” She asked suddenly, stopping my thoughts.

“Nagoya.” I didn’t dare to talk more.

“You’re a good dancer.” She told me without our eyes meet.

“Th-Thanks…” I mumbled, and the door opened violently.

Iriyama Anna’s POV

I looked at the woman in front of us. She was already at home. I could see the anger in her eyes. I was working with a standard student at my mother’s place. She was just a simple girl. She wasn’t rich or anything else. My heart was suddenly wrapped with a strange feeling. I was afraid.

“Who is she? Why is she here?” My mother shouted at me.

I bit my lower lip. I needed to stay calm and to not cry.

“She can’t come here.” She continued yelling.

“I don’t care. Stop being- I hate you. You and your stupid money.” I shouted, feeling the tears rolling on my cheeks.

I wasn’t able to hold it anymore.

“Leave this place now.” My mother shouted at Yuria.

Kizaki Yuria’s POV

I took my bag and reached Anna’s mother’s side. She looked at me, waiting for me to say something. I didn’t rise my eyes on her, and I continued to look in front of me.

“Stupid.” I snapped before leaving them.

I didn’t care if she was older than my classmate’s mother or me. She couldn’t act like that. It was horrible. I understood a bit Anna’s behaviour. I needed to check on her. I decided to call Rena.

‘Hi Yuria.’

‘Hi Renacchi, can you give me Anna’s number?’ I asked a bit embarrassed.

‘What happened?’ She asked, worried.

‘N-Nothing, I just need to speak with her.’

‘Aren’t you at her ho- I will send it.’ She stopped her sentence in the middle.

She surely knew about Anna’s mother as they were friends. So, she quickly understood.

‘Thank you.’ I hung up.

Iriyama Anna’s POV

My mother left a few minutes ago. I was alone in my room, trying to stop crying. My phone vibrated, I took it and looked the text.

————————————-

To: Anna

From: Unknown

I hope you’re okay.

Take care of yourself.

Yuria

————————————-

I light smile appeared on my lips. I felt better knowing she was worried about me. I didn’t really understand why but it didn’t really matter. I closed my eyes and fell asleep without replying.

Kizaki Yuria’s POV

A few days passed since the little accident. But our project wasn’t over.

“Do you want to go to my place?” I asked at Anna.

“What?” She looked at me stunned.

“For our work.” I giggled at her.

“Yes, it’s better than mine.” She mumbled the last part, but I could hear it.

“Great, let’s go.” I smiled and start walking, but someone stopped me.

“Again with The Ice Princess?”

Great, I’ll kill this girl.

“What?” I asked, coming closer.

“Nothing. I just noticed that.” She laughed.

I didn’t like it. These girls needed to stop bothering Anna.

“Why? Are you jealous?”

“Of course no.”

I smirked and grabbed her collar before pushing her against the wall. I couldn’t hit her. I took a deep breath, ready to talk.

“Fine, so you’re just a dumbass.” I told her calmly.

I released her slowly and left her with Anna. Anna didn’t mutter a word. She remained quiet, as usual. But lately, it became more comfortable for us to talk. She was less silent on the way to home.

“Tadaima.” I shouted, pushing the door.

“Is someone there?” Anna asked a bit surprised.

“No, my mother is working. It’s just a bad habit.”

I heard a light chuckled behind me.

Weeks passed, and people started calling me ‘The Yankee’ because of my behaviour. I didn’t mind it. They didn’t bother Anna or me anymore.

I take the pink letter in my bag, staring at it for a few seconds. I received it this morning. I distinguished Rena who was looking at me, she was curious. I finally opened it and started reading.

“Maybe it’s a love letter” I heard Rena teasing Anna who was next to her.

“Love you…?” I quietly asked myself, but they seemed to hear it.

“Annin, what’s this kind of face?” Rena made fun of her, but she quickly left the place while Rena followed her.

“Sorry, I can’t.” I mumbled, looking my friends leaving me.

I couldn’t accept these feelings. I understood what was going on with me.

Iriyama Anna’s POV

“Annin. Stop!” Rena yelled and grabbed my arm to make me stop. “What’s wrong with you?”

I was feeling so weird. My heart hurt me so much at this time.

“Nothing.” I almost yelled at my friend.

I was used to yelling. Rena’s face turned worried.

“Hey, Anna.” She told me, trying to comfort me when I was on the verge of the tears. “Don’t cry.” She pulled me into a warm hug.

“It’s-I don’t know…” I mumbled, lost.

The school’s bells rang. I didn’t want to let her go. I was fine, comforted in her arms. But we pushed away, and I thanked Rena for her support. I needed to understand.

Kizaki Yuria’s POV

I was sitting on my seat. Anna and Rena suddenly disappeared a few minutes ago. I finally saw Anna coming into the classroom. She didn’t look at me and only sat. I wanted to ask her what happened but I couldn’t speak. It was as if my voice was stuck in my throat.

I quickly left the classroom and went to see Rena. I wanted to know. Anna suddenly worried me.

“Rena.” I called my friend when she started leaving.

“Sorry for what happened before the class.” She apologised with a little smile.

“What happened to Anna?” I asked curiously.

“She was a bit tired lastly.” She answered before leaving me.

I didn’t believe her. She was lying. I should just give up.

Iriyama Anna’s POV

The days passed, but I still didn’t talk with Yuria. I didn’t want. I was a coward. She had a boyfriend, right? Boyfriend, huh? My heart hurt me so much. I couldn’t stand it. I hated myself. I was in my bed, trying to stop crying.

“Miss. Your-” My steward started.

“I don’t care.” I snapped.

“Miss, your mother called you.”

“I don’t care.” I answered, but my voice cracked again.

My mother will kill me.

“Anna, come here.” My mother shouted at me.

I didn’t answer, staying here. I distinguished her figure coming toward my room.

“Why are you crying? Because of her again?”

“How do you know?” I sat and looked at her with my red eyes.

I didn’t tell anyone, but it looked that my mother could easily understand me.

“It’s a forbidden love. You can’t love her.” She snapped without taking care of my feelings.

“I love her. No matter it’s a forbidden love. Why don’t you support me? You are my mother, aren’t you?” I shouted, and the tears didn’t stop to flow on my cheeks.

She moved closer and slapped me hard. It was just love.

“Don’t speak to me like that. I’m your mother.”

“Oh really?” I answered in a mocking tone and left her.

She called my name aloud, but I ignored her, running in the street. I couldn’t stop thinking about Yuria. I needed to see her. I had to tell her.

I remembered where she was living. My heartbeats increased. I knocked at the door. I was scared.

Yuria opened it before looking at me. She was stunned to see me here. Of course, she was.

Kizaki Yuria’s POV

Anna was crying hard. Maybe another quarrel with her mother. I didn’t overthink and pulled her into my arms. I wanted to comfort her.

My mother was working late again. I let Anna come in, and we sat on the couch. I put my arm on her back and stroked it softly.

“I hate her…” Anna told me between her sobbing before putting her head on my shoulder. “I’m in love. She doesn’t understand me…”

I suddenly stopped moving my hand. Anna removed her head and stared at me, surprised. I felt like my heart stopped beating. In love? I knew these feelings will destroy me, but I didn’t want to think it will happen. She raised her hand and stroked my cheek gently, both blushed badly.

“Yuria…” She mumbled quietly.

I gazed at her attractive lips and started leaning. I couldn’t hold me anymore. Our lips finally met. She didn’t reject my kiss and moved her lips slowly. I closed my eyes and enjoyed them. Then, I put my hands around her neck, pulling her closer. Anna removed her hand from my cheek and wrapped her arms around my waist. The sound of kissed filled the silent room. We parted away, breathless. She put her forehead against mine. My arms still around her neck, I begged for another kiss. She moved slowly, she was a few inches from my lips.

“Tadaima~.” I heard someone yelled.

We quickly pushed away and looked toward the door, trying to get our breath back.

“Good evening.” My mother smiled, looking at us a bit surprised.

“M-Mom… This is Anna, my friend.” I managed to say.

How embarrassing.

“Are you ok you two?” She giggled.

“Y-Yes. We’re going to my room.” I answered, pulling Anna’s wrist.

“W-Why did you kiss me?” Anna asked when we reached my bedroom.

“Because I love you.” I told her, lowering my head.

I loved her, but she loved someone else, right?

“Yuria…” She mumbled slowly.

I released her wrist, but she grabbed my hand tightly. She didn’t want to let me go.

“I thought you had a boyfriend.” She told me, a bit lost.

“Eh? No.”

A boyfriend? Why? She raised my chin, making me face to her. She smiled and kissed me quickly but passionately.

“I love you.” She whispered when we parted away.

I hugged her tightly, I could feel her hugging me back. She loved me. She was in love with me

“And your family?” I asked a bit anxious.

“I don’t care. I want to be with you.”

“I love you.” I told her, my face buried in her neck.

“I love you too.”

Anna told me she was happy to go to school now. Because she could see me. I never thought she could be that sweet.

“Do you know how students call you?” Rena asked us.

“No, how?” I answered, curious about that.

“The Yankee and The Ice Princess.”

“Too long.” I answered, crossing my arms over my chest.

“By the way, who it was the last time? The love letter.” Anna asked.

“It was a guy from our class.” I looked my girlfriend who looked annoyed.

“Our class? Who?” She asked in a cold tone.

“It’s okay, I’m all yours.” I teased her, taking her hands.

“I know.” She mumbled, blushing.

I giggled and hugged her. She was too cute.

“I love you.” I told her before kissing her cheek gently.

The End.
